Graphic Designer: Print, Flash & Websites

After graduating in Graphic Communication from Loughborough University, I joined Dupree Creative‘s print design team, before moving into website design and flash animation. After 8 successful years there, I was headhunted to work in MasterCard’s Digital Marketing Team.

I am a big believer in ‘mobile first’. A growing number of people are using their mobiles and tablets to consume the internet due to there convenience and portability. As a big user of mobile devices myself, I get frustrated with websites that do not offer the same information and functionality on all devices. Whether it be mobile, tablet, desktop or even TV. This website has served me well for a number of years. I am aware that it goes against my beliefs as it is not responsive. But there is a responsive website in the works.

I have developed in-depth expertise in designing ‘flash’ banners for many market-leading magazine websites including InStyle, LivingEtc, LOOK, woman&home, NME, Decanter, Rugby World, World Soccer, Golf Monthly and many more. I’ve incorporated this into my web design, creating sites that not only look aspirational, but function well, too. I’ve come a long way since honing my skills as a child playing on my Atari 2600 (where I still rule the world at Joust! Although, my brother would argue against that).

I’m not always locked in a darkened room producing the latest catalogue or website – I do get to see the outside world from time to time and I don’t mean taking my laptop outside to work. My main passion is football (sorry!), where I play for local teams and have dabbled in management too. Sadly, my skills are more like a Sunday league version of the ‘try hard’ Phil Neville than a ‘fleet footed’ Paul Gascoigne, but I do have his tantrums!
